This year marks 25 years of child sponsorship, a movement that began with just a handful of children and has grown into thousands of lives transformed. As you scroll through the photos in this email of children with their sponsors, families in Kenya, and moments of joy and hope, you are seeing the story you helped write. And the story is still unfolding.

From the beginning, Tumaini has been a grassroots movement, built on partnership, prayer, and the belief that every child deserves the chance to thrive. We have always worked to maximize every dollar, stretching resources through local leadership, scaling, and good stewardship. Even as Kenya’s inflation has averaged around 7% annually over the past decade, we have intentionally kept sponsorship costs steady so that as many children as possible could access education, healthcare, and holistic support.

After seven years without any change, we recognized it was time to make a small adjustment to ensure each child continues to receive the full care they deserve. Beginning in 2026, new sponsors will join at $40 per month, up from the previous $38.

For our current sponsors, your rate will remain the same unless you choose to update it. We want to honor what was originally communicated to you, and we are deeply grateful for the years of faithful support that have carried this mission forward.

Another Way to Help: The Hope Fund

Maybe you are not currently sponsoring a child but want to help close the gap. Or perhaps you cannot commit to a higher monthly amount right now but would like to make a one‑time gift to support children with urgent needs. A gift to the Hope Fund directly strengthens the areas where support is needed.
