Hello fellow partners in Hope,
Just a few weeks ago, Tumaini Mission Hospital once again became a place where compassion met deep need. Our annual medical outreach opened its doors wide to the community—and what unfolded was a powerful picture of why accessible, dignifying healthcare matters so much.
Before sunrise, families from rural villages began gathering with quiet the hope that they finally received the care they’ve gone without for far too long. Mothers carrying little ones, elders leaning on walking sticks, and young adults who had traveled miles on foot all came seeking help, healing, and encouragement.
Over two full days, more than 762 patients received medical consultations, lab work, and essential medications. Men, women, and children—many from families living in deep poverty—were able to receive care they simply cannot access anywhere else.
But numbers alone never tell the full story.
From the moment the sun rose, our entire Tumaini family was already in motion. Staff from every department—counseling, education, administration, field offices, and the hospital—arrived before 5:00 AM to ensure every patient was welcomed, guided, and cared for. Our kitchen team prepared meals for volunteers and guests. Our intake and support teams helped elders, comforted children, and made sure no one was overlooked.
In the pharmacy, shelves were fully stocked thanks to donor generosity. In the lab, technicians provided screenings for diabetes, HIV/AIDS, cancer risks, pregnancy, and other conditions that often go undetected in rural communities. Dental and vision care brought relief and clarity to those who have lived with pain or impaired sight.
And woven through it all was the heart of Tumaini: caring for the whole person. Alongside medical services, attendees received counseling support and prayer. Many arrived burdened, worried, or feeling forgotten. They left seen, encouraged, and reminded that hope is still within reach.
As we celebrate 25 years of serving this community, moments like these remind us how far God has brought us—from a small walk‑in clinic, to a 24/7 medical center, to the opening of Tumaini Mission Hospital in 2024. Every outreach is a reflection of that journey and of the faithful partners who have walked with us.
Your generosity is woven into every part of this outreach—in the stocked pharmacy shelves, the lab equipment that makes early diagnosis possible, the dental and vision care that brings relief, and the counseling that restores hope. You may not have been physically present, but your impact was felt in every smile, every prayer, and every moment of healing.
Next month, our team will travel to the coastal community of Kolewa for another medical outreach, serving nine surrounding villages where access to care is extremely limited. If you feel moved to help extend this lifeline, you can support the upcoming outreach HERE.
Your generosity truly makes a difference.
With gratitude,
The Tumaini Team
