Meet the Esthers!

Meet the Esthers

If you have ever visited our field offices in Tumaini Kenya, chances are that you have met more than one staff named Esther. It so happens that out of our sixty-four full-time staff members, five of them are named Esther. A common joke around our offices is that if your name is Esther and you are looking for a job in Tumaini, you will be hired! The truth is, we are blessed with Esthers! Over the years, God has brought some great ladies to our organization who happen to go by the same name, and we are incredibly blessed to have them on our staff. So please meet  Esther 1, 2, 3, 4, &  5. The ranking is purely based on their longevity with the organization, but they are all equally gifted and their own fields.

Esther #1 has been an invaluable staff member for 19 years now. She has filled various key positions and is currently serves in the Human Resource and Administration department, handling staff needs. Esther also sits in  as deputy country Program Director. Esther has watched Tumaini grow from less than one hundred sponsored children to now serving over 100,000 people annually. Says Esther 1: “I am so happy and privileged to serve  God in Tumaini for all these years”.

Esther #2: has served with Tumaini for 11 years as the head of the counselling department. This critical department oversees the overall wellbeing of sponsored children in social, academic, and psychological areas, (among others). Under Esther’s able leadership, her team offers guidance and counselling. These services are also extended to  churches and youth groups in the communities that Tumaini serves across the country. ‘’I am happy when I see children doing well not only in their academics but also in their self-esteem & motivation”, said Esther.

Esther # 3 is a graduate of Tumaini International Girls High School. She was in pioneer class, so  Esther has been associated with Tumaini since 2015 when she joined our girl’s school as a first-year student. As staff, Esther has served as our Donor Services Coordinator but more recently transitioned to the communications desk. With a background in Information Technology, Esther now maintains database and data entry for the sponsored children. “I am privileged to have been sponsored by Tumaini for my education and now offered a place in the organization to serve other needy and deserving children”, said Esther.

Esther #4  joined our team a couple of years ago as Kiswahili and History Teacher at our amazing school, Tumaini International Girls High School. “I enjoy teaching the girls and am so happy to be part of the Tumaini fraternity”, said Esther.

Esther #5  joined our team a year ago and was also a teacher at Tumaini International Girls High School. Esther teaches Computer Science and Physics. Esther is also in charge of guidance and counseling at the school. Esther says,  “I just love what Tumaini does in instilling hope to those who  need it the most and I am so happy to be associated with the organization

We are beyond blessed with Esthers! Thank you to all the Esthers for their great work at Tumaini International! #tumainimeanshope #inspirehope #sponsorachild
