Chizi is a 23 year-old fourth year university student pursuing her Bachelor Degree in Education Science. She hails from the Kwale region of Kenya with a 10-member family. She was among the girls from Kwale Region who were sponsored through a partnership with the Tyndale foundation in 2017 which enabled her to enroll in Tumaini International Girls High School. Being the first born of seven siblings, the whole family has great hope in her.
“After I graduated from high school with a mean grade of B Constant …my parents were unable to raise money for my school fees. Being small scale farmers and given the situation in Kwale region where rain is not reliable, even getting food for the family was a problem. Tumaini showed up again and through the Alumni Scholarship program, I was able to join College and for the past 4 years my school fees and upkeep fee was catered for. I am glad that am almost finishing my degree program and am looking forward to helping my young brothers and sisters and the community at large.” explains Chizi.
Through the Tumaini Alumni scholarship program, Chizi has been able to pursue her university education and now she is looking forward to graduate in the next few months. She is grateful to God and all the sponsors who came through in her education Journey.
