Investing in the Future of Kenya
As I interacted with Evalyne and Monica that afternoon on the Tumaini campus, one thing became clear: They were grateful for the college support through Tumaini. And to show their gratitude, they desire to give back to their communities after completing their college education and joining the work force. It is not lost on these two college students that they have been given a rare opportunity to learn and dream big beyond their immediate circumstances. Their confidence and determination are a testament to what hope gives children from vulnerable families. Tangible hope breeds competence and confidence to change the future for oneself and others. Evalyne is pursuing a degree in Hospitality and realizes her dream career in the service industry while Monica’s dream of becoming a schoolteacher is becoming an achievable reality day by day. Thanks to so many of you who have sponsored children and/or given to our Hope Fund to make these dreams become realities.
Unfortunately, we have many other equally qualified boys and girls who are hoping to get a chance to go to college and/or university and realize their dream careers as well. You can be an answer to one of those qualified children who are on our waiting list. For those of you who registered, we look forward to seeing you at the Gala on Saturday! You will learn more about the work that Tumaini is doing in Kenya in investing in the lives of vulnerable college students. Funds raised during the Gala event will benefit our college students. For those who have not registered, you can still consider a donation through the link provided here.
