Hope in Motion: The Impact of This Summer's Vision Trips

Hello Tumaini Friend,

This summer, Tumaini welcomed 34 vision trip guests from three partner churches and several individual travelers — each one stepping into Kenya with open hands, open hearts, and a desire to see hope up close. What unfolded was nothing short of extraordinary.

Across villages, schools, churches, and homes, these guests met personally with the 42 children they collectively sponsor and other sponsored children in the regions the traveled. They listened to stories, prayed together, shared meals, and celebrated the dignity and joy that sponsorship brings. In larger school gatherings, they encouraged hundreds more reminding every child that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved.

❤️ New Life Church — Uniforms & Uplift in Mosa

New Life Church brought joy to the Mosa region as they helped distribute new school uniforms to children. Uniforms may seem simple, but in Kenya they represent dignity, belonging, and the chance to attend school with confidence.Their visit was a reminder that small acts of kindness can change the trajectory of a child’s future.

🐐 South Hills Church — Goats, Growth & God’s Love in Mwingi

South Hills Church returned to Mwingi to visit families who had previously received goats through their generosity — a gift that provides self‑sustaining income, food security, and restored dignity. They witnessed thriving families, growing herds, and hope taking root.

They also hosted a one‑day VBS camp, filling the church grounds with laughter, songs, games, and the joy of children simply being children.

🏥 Valley Christian Church — Healing in Kolewa

Along Kenya’s coast, Valley Christian Church partnered with Tumaini Mission Hospital to host a two‑day medical outreach in Kolewa.Doctors, nurses, and volunteers served 542 people — providing checkups, medication, wound care, and prayer.

For many, it was the first time in years they had access to reliable medical care. For all, it was a reminder that they are not forgotten.

🏠 Vision Team — Homes, Chickens & Hope Restored

Justin Rudd's team raised funds to build four new homes for some of the most vulnerable sponsored children — safe places where families can sleep without fear of rain, wind, or unsafe conditions.

They also provided chickens to sponsored children and their families, giving them:

  • A sustainable protein source

  • The ability to raise chickens for future income

  • A pathway toward long‑term stability

This is hope that multiplies.

🎉 A Special Moment — Staff Appreciation

Justin hosted a staff appreciation luncheon to honor Tumaini’s hardworking team. The celebration included a beautiful cake baked by Sylvia Mbula from our Hospitality Team — a sweet moment of gratitude for those who serve every day behind the scenes.

🌱 A Blessing Shared Both Ways

For the children, families, and communities, these visits were a blessing — a reminder that friends from around the world care deeply about their future.

For the vision team members, the blessing was mutual. They experienced Kenyan culture, worshiped with local churches, walked through villages, and saw firsthand the impact of Tumaini’s programs.

They returned home changed — carrying stories of hope, resilience, and God’s faithfulness.

🌍 The Heart of It All

The impact of Tumaini is made possible through partnership — churches, donors, foundations, and corporations who believe in dignity, opportunity, and hope.

These vision trips are living proof of what happens when we link arms across continents: Lives change. Communities rise. Hope grows.
