Providing Essential Services
Thank you for your incredible support! Through your faithful giving over the past six months, we have continued to provide extra essential services to sponsored children and their families. Schools remain closed but with the partial lockdowns lifted, we can traverse all the counties where we have sponsored families to offer the needed services. For example, over the past few days, our staff have been focusing on several villages in Kitui and Machakos Counties where a total of 154 vulnerable children and their families were given food. Other supplies included detergent soaps, sanitary towels, and a variety of other family-specific needs (blankets, etc.). We have also continued to offer healthcare, counseling, and guidance services and especially to girls who are most vulnerable.
As Education is a core program, we have continued to offer learning materials to enable children to remain academically engaged during this long period without formal schooling. We are especially focused on grades 11 and 12 who will be sitting for their national exit exams when schools re-open and dates announced. Meanwhile, virtual learning at our girls’ high school for junior and senior classes continues.
Thank you for those who have made donations to our Hope Fund and enabled us to provide these critically needed services. If you would like to donate to this fund, please do so TODAY as the need is still great.
Always grateful for your prayer and financial support!
Sincerely,
Stanley Mutunga

COVID-Update
As of Wednesday, September 2, 2020:
The pandemic numbers went further down this past week. The positivity rate has gone down to about 6% from double digits in June. Really good news!
34,493 total confirmed cases (only 1,477 new cases in the last 7 days)
581deaths (although any death is regrettable, only 17 died in one week, the fewest so far)
47 Counties affected, covering the entire country
We continue to thank God for His protection. All the children and the families that we support remain safe. Our staff is all doing well and continuing to serve.
