September, 2024 - gala update
We are deeply moved and immensely grateful for your incredible support and attendance at our recent gala. Your presence and generosity have made a profound difference in the lives of children in Kenya, and for that, we cannot thank you enough.
Together, we have taken a significant step towards improving their futures and ensuring they have access to the opportunities they deserve, including adequate medical care. It is your commitment and compassion that fuel our mission and inspire us every day.
Thank you for joining us in this journey. Your impact will be felt far beyond the event, and we look forward to sharing the positive changes your support will bring.
Your support is making a transformative difference. We raised over $540,000 of our $1,000,000 goal to fund the Tumaini Mission Hospital, and the pledges made prior and during the gala made this possible.
For those who are still considering a contribution, we invite you to fund a room or to fund specific equipment. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to realizing our vision of a fully operational hospital that will provide hope, healing, and care.
Please join us in this crucial phase of our mission and help us turn our vision into reality. Your generosity and support are invaluable as we work together to build a healthier future for children and their families in Kenya. Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a lasting impact.
If you have questions or would like more information about funding one of the hospital rooms, please email shelbi@tumainiinternational.org. We are happy to provide proposals and meet with any entity willing to help equip the hospital.
June 27, 2024 - TUMAINI MISSION HOSPITAL DEDICATION
In a remarkable display of unity and healthcare dedication, Tumaini Mission Hospital in Masii, Kenya, celebrated its grand opening with a resounding success during its recent medical outreach days. Over the course of two days, the hospital served an impressive 1,566 individuals, marking a pivotal moment for healthcare accessibility in the region.
The event, which saw the participation of numerous medical professionals from both Kenya and the United States, showcased the power of international cooperation and community support. Doctors, nurses, and healthcare volunteers united under one mission: to provide essential medical care to those in need, regardless of their circumstances.
Among the services offered were general medical consultations, dental care, vaccinations, physical therapy, optometry, pediatric care, and so much more. Patients, many of whom had traveled from remote villages, were treated with compassion and expertise by the dedicated team of volunteers.
The grand opening of Tumaini Mission Hospital not only signifies a new era in healthcare for Masii and its surrounding areas but also underscores the power of collaboration between local and international medical professionals. The volunteers, many of whom took time off from their practices and traveled long distances to be part of this initiative, emphasized the importance of giving back and making a tangible difference in the lives of others.
Local resident Esther, who received dental treatment during the outreach days, expressed her gratitude. "I never thought I would have my tooth fixed. I feel blessed to have received care here," she said with a smile.
Looking ahead, Tumaini Mission Hospital aims to continue its mission of providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare to all who seek it. With ongoing support from volunteers and the community, the hospital plans to expand its services and reach even more individuals in need.
As the sun set over Masii, leaving behind a day filled with healing and hope, the grand opening of Tumaini Mission Hospital stands as a testament to what can be achieved when hearts and hands come together for a common cause: to care for one another with kindness and dedication.
Please consider helping us reach the remainder of our goal to equip the hospital. We cannot fully open our doors until we are properly equipped with the technology and tools needed to operate a successful medical facility.
Thank you to all of our supporters and friends who made this medical outreach possible!
May 2 Update - Look at the interior finishes! It’s getting close to our dedication ceremony on June 27!
April 2024
In less than three months, we launch new services at Tumaini Mission Hospital. The construction crew is working diligently to complete the final pieces in anticipation for the launch and dedication on June 27th, 2024. Interior finishes are being completed and the final coordination and hiring the extra critical staff that we will need to provide the services that our sponsored children and the community at large are so eagerly waiting for. THE BIGGEST NEEDS AT THIS STAGE OF THE HOSPITAL’S COMPLETION IS THE PURCHASE OF INITIAL EQUIPMENT NEEDED BY JUNE 27TH! IT WILL COST $500,000 TO PURCHASE THE INITIAL CRITICAL EQUIPMENT. I AM BOTH HUMBLED, GRATEFUL, AND EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT ONE OF OUR PARTNER FAMILIES RECENTLY DONATED $200,000 FOR THIS NEED!
I am eternally grateful for your incredible generosity toward the completion of this worthy project. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A DESIGNATED DONATION TOWARD PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT, PLEASE DO SO TODAY. Every DONATION of ANY SIZE will make an enormous difference.
October 2023
The construction work for Tumaini Mission Hospital is going well. The contractors are on target to complete the inner fittings and have everything ready for move-in during April 2024. The launch and dedication for the facility is set for June 27th, 2024. We would like to welcome you to witness the grand opening as well. For proper logistics, if you are planning to attend, please let us know, by March 31st, 2024.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to get us to this point. So far you have raised $546,487 in donations and pledges. However, we still need to raise the balance of $453,511 to reach the goal of $1,000,000 and ensure completion of the facility by the estimated date.
June 2023
The construction work is on-going per schedule. With the completion of the super structure, the focus now is on dry walling, installation of windows, doors, top roofing, and other finishes. Incidentally, this stage of the construction requires a steady flow of cash. We want to thank those who are sending their support regularly, regardless of the amount. There is no small amount of money for this project. We are asking you to consider sending a donation TODAY to ensure that the work doesn’t stop.
September 2022
We could not be happier with the substantial progress of this life changing project. Indeed, our dream of building a comprehensive hospital for the children and the communities that we serve is nearing a reality every day. Since we do not have the large building machines, the construction has been a labor-intensive endeavor, some days employing 100 laborers onsite! This progress has only been possible because a lot you have contributed financially. You are making a difference in the lives of thousands of people now and millions in the years to come. Thank you all! For those who pledged your 12-month support during our gala, thank you but keep it coming! The total estimated cost to complete the construction is $2,000,000.
June 2022
Masii, Kenya, Wednesday June 22nd, 2022. It was such a joyous beautiful morning. Tumaini medical staff and a few invited guests gathered to dedicate and break ground for the expansion of Tumaini Mission Hospital in Kenya. This was such a joyous and historical moment for the organization. A momentous day to reflect on God’s past provisions and trust in him for this great life changing project. My wife Rose, Chris (Tumaini Board Chairperson, US), her husband Byron, and Susan (US Director of Programs) were all there to witness and participate.
And now the journey begins. I am trusting God to provide. I am calling on you to prayerfully consider participating in raising nearly two million dollars needed to complete this four-story building. This facility will be life-transforming for thousands of our sponsored children and their families. Beyond the immediate communities, this hospital will serve as a referral center in the region. Potentially we will serve millions of people with quality and affordable services for many years to come.
