During school holidays we bring elementary and high school sponsored children together for a three-day long camp for fun, friendship, and food. More importantly, we spend time learning about God and His eternal love for them. This year the theme in all our venues has been Finding Identity in Christ. Through our child sponsorship program, we cover a large part of the country, so we are no longer bringing all the children to one venue. Rather, we conduct these camps regionally. Two weeks ago, our staff and other volunteers traveled to the coastal counties of Kwale and Taita Taveta. These counties have a strong Islamic influence, but the communities are appreciative of the work that we do, especially with education, healthcare and mitigating extreme poverty, so we are very well received. Finding Identity in Christ is especially an appropriate topic because of the low inferiority complex that we often encounter with vulnerable children in these regions. A total of 232 children attended the camps and they had a great time. In addition to sharing God’s word with the children, there were opportunities for individual and group counseling and psychosocial support. One of our doctors from Tumaini Mission Hospital was at hand to address the children on general health issues as well.
Thank you for your monthly child sponsorship! A portion of your support goes to support our camps. Thank you for giving these children an opportunity to know the Lord who alone can bring eternal changes in their lives. If you would like to sponsor a child and give them an opportunity, not just for education, healthcare, and socio-economic advancement, but also for their eternal destiny, go to the link below TODAY and pick a deserving child.
As always, I am eternally indebted to you for your child sponsorship that brings hope today and for the future.
Eternally grateful,
