‘’I cannot raise sufficient money from my small business to sustain my kids in school. My firstborn will be joining high school very soon and I do not know what to do’’, said Maureen during a visit to her business this week. Standing outside her village stall, she proudly showed our staff how she makes a living to support herself and her three children. Maureen is a single mother, and with no formal job, she works hard at her makeshift store. Despite hard work, Maureen is not able to sustain her kids in school and she fears that she will not be able to support her first-born who will be joining the high school in two years.
Unfortunately, Maureen’s experience is a quite common occurrence in most developing countries. It is a sad reality that sometimes working hard in a society with limited opportunities results in abject poverty. But the good news is that Maureen, like many vulnerable families that we serve, is looking for a hand-up. She is looking for a partnership opportunity to support her family and give her children a chance to education. Therefore, child sponsorship is critical for this family and others like Maureen’s.
That is why I am writing to you today to present 10 vulnerable children (6 girls and 4 boys) who are desperately looking for sponsorship this week. In addition to Maureen’s children, we have Elizabeth’s, Angeline’s, and Jacinta’s families. If you have been considering child sponsorship or are in a position to take on one or a couple more vulnerable children, this is a great opportunity for you and/or your family to give hope to a child in desperate need. Please click on a child to begin sponsorship or contact us to assist.
