Tumaini International

Rick

Meet Rick,

What do you do at Tumaini?

My job title is office assistant although most of my time and focus is on marketing like managing the website, social media channels, email campaigns, content creation, and other audio-visual and media productions.

How did you get involved with Tumaini International?

It started with my family being Tumaini child sponsors for the last 7 years. Then, back in 2012, I had the opportunity to visit Tumaini on a missions trip and loved it! So when I heard Tumaini was looking to hire someone, I applied and began in January!

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I really enjoy my job! It is a perfect fit for me and a combination of my business experiences, undergraduate Psychology education, and creative arts hobbies. Having new challenges and stuff to learn and improve on is enjoyable; I am thankful to have a career and coworkers who allow me to do so. More so, I love people and serving others so doing creative stuff and marketing WHILE helping those in need is the best! My job at Tumaini is a great fit for an ENFP Enneagram type 3 wing 2 person like myself. (<---shoutout to my fellow psych lovers)

Where are you likely to be spotted outside of work?

Usually drumming or making music, working out at the gym, or getting a nice drink at a hip coffee shop or microbrewery with friends.

What can you not live without?

Coffee and music. I need to start my day with a warm cup of black and bold coffee along with an occasional cup (or two) in the afternoon/evening. Music is also an essential part of my life (especially drumming); whereas coffee gets me going music keeps me going.

If you had an all-expenses-paid weeklong vacation where would you go?

I would go big mountain heli-based snowboarding in Alaska or complete the Baja 500 on my dirt bike depending on the time of year.
